Song of The Week: "Part II"

Song of The Week: "Part II" by Paramore

Many people consider this song as the second part to "Let The Flames Begin," a song from Paramore's 2007 album Riot!  Indeed, the rhythm and lyrics are similar (i.e. "oh glory"). But what I love about this song is when the guitar part comes in during the chorus. Combined with Hayley Williams' amazing vocals, the hook will be stuck in your head all day (or all week, in my case!) And need I mention the outro? It's pretty awesome.

Song of The Week: "City"

Song of The Week: "City" by Sara Bareilles

The amazingly emotional live version:

"City" is a song based on Sara's experiences when she moved from her small hometown in Northern California to the bustling city of Los Angeles. I can relate to this song very well, since I basically went through the same thing. In a such a populated place such as L.A., you can easily feel lost, unexceptional, or uncared for, since it seems like you're just another ordinary face in the crowd. Sara does another superb job communicating her emotions through her voice and her lyrics; I always feel like crying whenever I hear this song (especially when I listen to the live version).

New Sara Bareilles Single!

Hey everyone! Check out Sara Bareilles' new single from her album The Blessed Unrest (which I think totally should've won a Grammy!) It's called "I Choose You" - a sweet, happy song about finding the perfect person to love. Also great for serenading your significant other on Valentine's Day. ;)

And here's an awesome live performance of the song:

"I Choose You" also counts as the Song of The Week. :)
